Most of you know our fearless leaders, Jennifer and Jimmy Liang, but many of you probably haven’t had a chance to sit down and chat with either of them. (Mostly because they rarely get the opportunity to sit during the convention.) Because everyone should get the chance to harass at least one of them, and Jenn is awesome and willing to help us make it happen, we’ll be hosting a Twitter AMA with Jenn on Monday January 21! The AMA will last from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm ET, so be ready with some questions for her!
Have you ever wondered where the incredible items in the annual JordanCon Charity Auction come from? Many of them come from people just like you who want to help support the Mayo Clinic! If you have anything you would be willing to donate for the 2019 auction, you can use this link to submit your donation online. We can’t wait to see what you add to the auction! (And we can’t wait to buy it all, either!)
The overflow hotel information was released last month on Facebook, so be sure to book your room before the block is full. Our overflow hotel this year will be the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, and the room block will run from Thursday through Sunday. While the link technically works until April 12, 2019, the rooms are only available with the discount until the block is full. Discounted, rooms with King beds will be $109.00 per night and rooms with two queen beds will be $129.00, so don’t miss your opportunity to get these rooms at the lower price! (Remember that you can still book a room at the host hotel. You just won’t be able to get the discounted rate.)
Did you know that we offer special accommodations and services for those who need a little extra help attending and enjoying the con to its fullest? As we approach next year’s convention, we’re going to shine a spotlight on some of the services we already offer to our attendees and guests who need special accommodations, but we’re also announce some new things we’re going to be doing at JordanCon 2019 to make our convention even more accessible. Keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter, and the website for more information in the coming weeks! Also, if you’re considering attending JordanCon 2019 but have some questions or requests for accommodations, please reach out to us at accessibility@jordancon.org. We would love to hear from you and help you in any way we can!
We’ve all been waiting an incredibly long time to see a version of our beloved series on screen, whether big or small, and after so many years without much progress, it’s been incredible to be getting constant updates from showrunner Rafe Judkins via Twitter and his #WOTWednesday posts.
At JordanCon 10, Harriet teased that news about who would be ordering the show was imminent, and now the wait is finally over. It was officially announced that Amazon is the lucky streaming service involved! More importantly, they’ve confirmed the first season is already ordered and at least two scripts are complete and ready to go. For fans, this is a dream come true. We’re no longer hoping for progress, we’re seeing things happen and watching the project move rather speedily toward completion.
To stay up to date on what’s happening, be sure to follow our Facebook and Twitter pages. We love sharing Judkins’ updates, and we’re always keeping an eye out for new and exciting news! And as always, we’ll do our best to catch you up here once a month, too!
